Double Decker Chocolate Burfi

I prepared this sweet for Diwali 2012. Be rest assured that you can 'wow' your family and friends if you follow this recipe.
Soft -melt in the mouth burfis



Ingredients:

  1. All purpose flour or maida - 2 cups
  2. Home made ghee - 10 tbsp
  3. Sugar - 4 cups
  4. Milk powder - 1 cup
  5. Cocoa - 1tbsp
  6. Warm Milk - 1/2 cup
Method:
  1. Mix in the cocoa in warm milk and stir for no lumps. Keep aside.
  2. Boil 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 a cup of water.
  3. When the sugar is incorporated well, add a cup of maida slowly stirring all the time.
  4. Now add 5 tbsp of ghee and stir till the mixture froths up and leaves the sides of the vessel.
Spread into a plate. This whole process must take only 10 minutes.

Now repeat the steps 1 to 3 with the remaining ingredients, this time add in the cocoa mixture for the top layer and repeat till the 4th step.

Spread this mixture on top of the first layer.

Let it cool and cut into desired shape.

This recipe will churn out 25-30 burfis.
